Hosted by Sew in Heaven in Holiday Island, AR, Linda and Louise will be taking their famous retreat on the road to Eureka Springs, AR, the little Switzerland of the Ozarks. Join them for personal fittings, wardrobing ideas, sewing techniques and their frolicking trunk shows.
Secluded and peaceful with winding mountainside streets, Eureka Springs, AR has a flair like no other town. In fact, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named Eureka Springs, AR as one of its "Dozen Distinctive Destinations." Streets are lined with Victorian homes hugging cliffsides, and its entire downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places. There are over 75 water sites that were one-time "healing waters" destinations for people from all over the world.
Take time to enjoy a spa treatment at the New Moon Spa located in the famous hill-top Crescent Hotel that was built in 1886. And then take a short walk behind the hotel to enter St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church through the bell tower - the only chuch of its kind in the world. There will be time to investigate the one-of-a-kind shops, boutiques, fine art galleries, craft emporiums, spas, museums and restaurants. Meet Mark, the owner of Regalia, who designs and makes his own line of custom linen clothing. And visit Eleanor Lux in her wonderful weaving and art studio.
Just walking the streets and gazing at the adorable Victorian homes and cottages is enough of a treat. This town has become Linda's favorite destination for relaxation and fun. So please join her, and her partner-in-crime Louise, for a total experience of sewing and exploring.
