Introducing the Barcelona Top!

We love pattern debuts around here at the Sewing Workshop! We finally get to spread the love about what we've been working on over recent weeks or months. The Barcelona Top has had many forms during it's design process. Through trial and tribulations, we're so happy with the result. A year round garment, depending on your fabric choice, the Barcelona looks great in lightweight knit gauze with short sleeves for spring and summer or try it in a medium-weight, stable knit for fall and winter, like this Houndstooth Print Pique. Here are a few of our favorite fabric choices.

We love Linen Gauze. It's lightweight, airy for this summer heat and it also comes in beautiful colors. The Barcelona has two cowl options, single-layer and double-layer. Try the double-layer cowl when using the linen gauze.

Try a medium-weight terry knit. We have some great, new knits that are perfect.

Shibori Print French Terry or Navy French Terry with Dots & Stripes! Update: there is one end cut left of the Dots & Stripes.

Try mixing woven and knit fabrics for the Barcelona. Crepe Print with Black & White Dots mixed with Knit Window Stripe in Grey or Silk Stacked Leaf Print mixed with Knit Window Stripe in Neutral. Remember, use a knit for the cowl! It will make your life easier.

Simple knit stripe - the perfect weekend fabric. Try the Uneven Mini Stripe Jersey in either tan or blue.

Since we can't get enough of Alabama Chanin knits, why not combine that love with our affection for linen gauze.

Once the weather cools off, this Houndstooth Print Pique Knit will feel good.
