Now Spring Dress

The tulips and irises are blooming. The toes are painted and sandals are out. It's spring! Wearing dresses is a simple way to get dressed in the morning, year round. But it's essential in the spring and summer to stay cool. In an effort to make every pattern into a tunic or dress, I tackled the Now Shirt.

With Pinterest, the inspiration is everywhere and right at our fingertips.

I love the drawstring waist and button tab detail at the sleeve. Fun details that easily apply to the original design of the Now Shirt.

Here's how to do it! First, lengthen your pattern approximately 15" depending on where you want the dress to fall.

Use Fusi-Web to attach waist panel.

Topstitch band at natural waist. Topstitch 2 additional rows of stitching in middle.

Insert drawstring in between middle rows of stitching.

Add a hook & eye closure at waist for extra security.

Add button tab at sleeve for a slight gathered look.

Add button tab to center of sleeve. raw edges at middle horizontal line. Stitch in place.

Fold over towards sleeve hem. Topstitch in place.

Here's the finished project!
