You may have noticed some new names popping up on threadWEAR 301 and our Facebook page. Join us in welcoming Alex and Betsy to the team!
Alex Woodbury Marketing + Social Media
Alex grew up in the sewing industry under her mother, Linda Lee of The Sewing Workshop. She went on to pursue a degree in Counseling, and soon after a Fashion Design and Entrepreneurship degree. She has infused her love of sewing and helping people through trips abroad to Africa with various organizations and ministries teaching underprivileged women how to sew. She has launched a bag pattern and lifestyle business, Alex + Ikat, has worked in the sewing event industry, and has taken her passions to Paris, studying under ESMOD International's summer fashion program.
Betsy Blodgett Marketing + Social Media
Betsy is a new member to The Sewing Workshop team. Previously the co-owner of bon bon atelier, a fabric and craft store, she left retail ownership to work on the marketing and production side of the sewing industry. Betsy is also the host of the craft and indie design podcast Hello Atelier where she interviews designers and artists.
Alex and Betsy will be contributing to our Social Media channels and they will also be representing the Sewing Workshop at some upcoming trade shows and events. Look for them at International Quilt Market in Houston, TX October 29-31, 2016. They have been busy planning the booth concept, and it is going to be striking!
We love having new perspectives and design ideas in the studio. We are very happy to welcome these two designers to the team!
