I am still feeling the euphoria from last summer's workshops at Chateau Dumas in southern France, and Nancy and I are working hard to make our next workshop, as our students have said, "The trip of a lifetime". I can't wait to go back next July.
Here is why I can't resist the Chateau Dumas experience.
The charm and tranquility of Chateau Dumas is unsurpassed. When I arrive, my world gets better. Our accommodations are lovely and the views are breathtaking.
I have never had better food. Delicious, locally-sourced dishes delight us every day.
Our work space is light and spacious and has everything we need to enjoy sewing and being creative. There is even a second studio space for cutting out.
Nancy makes the process of dyeing with paint surprisingly easy and fun. I never imagined such luscious results in so short a time.
We spend our first morning at one of the most famous brocantes in France, St. Antonin-Noble-Val, looking at mouth-watering produce, antiques, vintage and new clothing and hand crafts of every kind.
A day or two in Toulouse for a little shopping and dining sets the tone for a fabulous week at Chateau Dumas. Nancy and I have scoped out the best fabric store for designer pieces, and our favorite shoe store, and a tucked-away shop that only sells things in the famous French woad blue.
