Join us in beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a special sewing experience. In this workshop, you'll dive into a set of skills centering around the art of modern garment sewing with an artistic edge. Work intimately with two nationally-known instructors, Linda Lee of The Sewing Workshop and Nancy Shriber, founder of Contemporary Sashiko.

In this workshop, you will stencil, stamp and paint your fabric using Nancy’s signature technique. Add personal elements using hand stitching and letting. Hone your sewing skills as you work with Linda to construct your beautiful garment, all while enjoying breathtaking views on top of the Ozark mountain range.

We will be sewing in the gorgeous, light-filled conservatory at the historic Crescent Hotel & Spa. The Crescent has been hosting travelers in Eureka Springs since 1886 and is a perfect location for our sewing week. Whether you choose to stay onsite in a hotel room or in one of their luxurious and convenient cottages, you will be close to the sewing action.

Itinerary

The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday. We will have lunch at the Crescent Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, we will walk to local favorite, Oscar’s for lunch and then explore Mary Tait’s inspiring interior workroom and Elinor Lux’s weaving and jewelry studio. Box lunches are provided for Friday’s lunch.

We start the week with a trunk show of Nancy’s hand painted and stitched garments and ensembles of Sewing Workshop garments with Linda. You can also participate in Show & Tell if you are wearing something that you have made.

During the week, Linda will demonstrate specialized sewing techniques relating to the garments sewn in the class. As you sew, the Sewing Workshop team will be on hand to assist you with any questions you might have.
